Birthday without Papa

5:56 PM |

On Hikari's second birthday, Papa was already in Japan. Papa didn't see Hikari's party or his cake, but Hikari at that time was surrounded by families and friends.
On this year's birthday, Hikari's fourth birthday, Papa couldn't be with us again. He had a conference far away in Hokkaido. But beforehand, Papa had prepared the present for Hikari and Mama had prepared the cake. Papa even recorded himself saying 'happy birthday' to Hikari in our handycam.
So today, Hikari celebrated his fourth birthday with his friends: Imti-kun and Bilgung-kun. Auntie Fitri, Auntie Aye Aye, and Uncle Alom also visited Hikari to say happy birthday.
Thank you everyone for your coming. All of you have made Hikari's birthday merrier!

Otanjyobi Omedetoo Hikari-kun

4:14 PM |

"Kyo wa boku no tanjyobi da yo," said Hikari this morning. (today is my birthday)
"Yon sai ni natta yo," said Hikari again. (I'm 4 now)

So, this is Hikari, proud of becoming 4!

The only thing that is missing on Hikari's birthday is Papap. Papap went to Hokkaido for a conference this afternoon, but this morning he still had time to wish Hikari a happy birthday. Although today Hikari and Mama would blow the candle and eat the birthday cake ourselves, we will still have a good party once Papap returns. Right, Hikari?

Happy birthday, our dear Hikari. We love you. Always.

Tanabata

11:24 PM |

The star festival of this year was celebrated on Friday, 7 July 2006 by Wakaizumi Yochien. The students made decorations for the trees (there are 3 bamboo trees for Aoigumi, Midorigumi, and Akagumi). They also wrote their wishes on cartoons and hang the wishes at the trees.
Guess what Hikari wishes this year...

Boku wa Bokenjaa no omocha ga hoshii desu.
I want Bokenjaa (ranger) toy.

He also drew Papa and Mama, and then hang 'them' on the tree.

Fortunately for Hikari, this Tanabata wish happens at the same month with his birthday. So, yes, he will get Bokenjaa Toy. But, please don't tell him... yet.

Information about Tanabata, see here.
